Millions of Pounds, Dollars and Euros are spent on international freight services. In fact, it’s one of the fastest growing service sectors in world trade. However, few companies know how much they spend on transport services, or whether they are getting value for money. Consequently, freight costs are a very significant and relatively untouched overhead, where substantial savings can be achieved
How can we help?
Our freight audits offer an informed, objective and impartial analysis of a client’s freight forwarding arrangements. They concentrate on evaluating whether a company is obtaining value for money. We would advise the extent to which a forwarder sub-contracts a client’s freight business; whether a client’s goods are consolidated; which routings, airlines and shipping lines are used; whether the freight rates are competitive in relation to the service levels; and whether the ancillary charges are reasonable. A client could use the findings of a freight audit as a comfort check, or a bargaining tool to obtain an improved deal on rates and service levels from current, or future suppliers of freight services.
Our proven freight tender methodology has resulted in improved service levels and savings in excess of US$1.5 million for at least two clients.
